Arashi Kaminari -
This competition was a little more creative from
the last. The actual idea popped into my head one day when I was
watching a thunderstorm and I was thinking of ideas for the next
compo. I did allow a HUGE creative splurge on this one, some
people don't like it, others do; but in the end it was a roaring
success.

F5 Tornado (Winner) :-

Simply amazing, that's all I can say. As soon as
I got this entry I just new it would score first place in my
record books. The use of other rollercoaster's was such an
amazing idea. The other theme catches some sort of "mystical"
feeling. brkdance2003 used buildings to give the park an island
tribe theme. The rollercoaster itself is not mirrored, something
that I was stressing very hardly on, it's too easy to make a
rollercoaster that is identical on the other side, brkdance
creating one that stayed together, but grew further and further
apart... just like like the lighting and thunder in a storm.
Nice work, you deserved it.

Tropical Storm (Runner
Up) :-

This entry captured the feeling of Yin and Yang, the ancient
symbol of balance. Thunder and Lightning is something that
requires balance. You can't have thunder without lightning, and
lighting just isn't the same without thunder. MrK54 caught the
feeling of balance in this piece and that is something that
struck my interest. My advice is to work on the themeing a
little bit to snag the first position.

Conclusion :-
This competition was a little more interesting that any of the
others. It has a simplistic charm to it, but in the end gave the
opportunity to expand greatly on the idea that was presented.
Let's hope the next compo is just as amazing. |
